Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of Lionet (“Lionet”, “we”, “us”, “our”), operated by [your legal entity name] in Australia. By creating an account or using Lionet, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Lionet.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age and legally able to enter into a binding agreement to use Lionet. Lionet is intended for use by individuals in Australia.
2. What Lionet is — and is not
Lionet is a private digital vault that helps you record and organise information about yourself, your family and your estate. Lionet is a record-keeping tool only. It is not a substitute for professional advice.
- Lionet does not provide legal, financial, tax, medical or investment advice.
- Lionet is not a will-writing service and does not create a legally valid will, power of attorney, or any other legal instrument.
- Information you record in Lionet has no legal effect on its own. Your signed original documents (such as your will) remain the legally effective versions, and you should keep them safe and obtain professional advice where appropriate.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us promptly at [contact email] if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorisation. We are not responsible for loss arising from your failure to keep your credentials secure.
4. Your information and its accuracy
You own the information you enter into Lionet. You are responsible for its accuracy and for keeping it up to date. We do not verify the information you record, and we are not responsible for decisions made by you or others based on it.
5. Stewardship and access after death
Lionet lets you nominate stewards and beneficiaries who may be granted access to your vault, including after your death, according to the settings and verification steps described in the app. You are responsible for choosing these people carefully and keeping your nominations current. [The activation and verification process on death needs legal review, and should be aligned with your will and estate arrangements.] Lionet does not override, replace or take precedence over your will or the lawful authority of your executor.
6. Acceptable use
You agree to use Lionet lawfully and only for your own personal estate and life-admin records. You must not use Lionet to store or share unlawful content, to infringe anyone’s rights, to gain unauthorised access to any system, or to interfere with the security or operation of the service.
7. Availability
We aim to keep Lionet available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free. We may carry out maintenance, updates or changes to features from time to time. [Describe backup responsibilities — e.g. we recommend you keep your own copies of critical documents.]
8. Your consumer rights
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under that law where it cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, and subject to your non-excludable rights under the Australian Consumer Law, Lionet is provided “as is”. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from your reliance on information you or others have recorded in Lionet. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our liability is limited to [re-supplying the service or refunding fees paid — confirm with your lawyer].
10. Fees
[Describe pricing, billing, renewals and cancellation, if Lionet is paid. If free during this phase, state that.]
11. Intellectual property
Lionet, including its design, branding and software, is owned by [your legal entity name]. These Terms do not transfer any of our intellectual property to you. Your own information remains yours.
12. Ending your use of Lionet
You may stop using Lionet and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or where reasonably necessary to protect the service or other users. On account deletion, your vault data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new “last updated” date, and where changes are material we will let you know. Continuing to use Lionet after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [State/Territory], Australia, and you and we submit to the courts of that jurisdiction.
